Lilyana Castro

INTERN

Lilyana is a current rising thesis student at Virginia Tech pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture. Ever since she could hold a pencil, she has been drawing and embracing her creativity. Her interest in the architecture field sparked after taking an art history class in high school. In her own work she focuses on bridging the relationship between art and the built environment through materiality and hand drafting. Her work is heavily inspired by Peter Zumthor, Alvar Aalto, and Renzo Piano, whose projects she saw in person during study abroad in Switzerland.

When not in the office, Lilyana spends her time exploring various forms of art, such as ceramics, oil painting, printmaking, and figure drawing. She also enjoys traveling, going to museums, and frequenting local markets.
