Preservation Architect

MTFA Architecture is seeking an architect with experience in historic preservation, who is committed to transforming visions, enhancing potential, and exceeding expectations in the built environment. In 2014, MTFA acquired John Milner Associates Preservation to form the nucleus of our growing historic preservation firm. We are dedicated to preserving and adapting historic buildings and sites nationwide. Preservation is what we do and what we have been doing for over 40 years.

To join us as a PRESERVATION ARCHITECT in our studio, you should have:

  • Knowledge of the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation
  • 5+ years of historic preservation experience
  • Current architectural registration
  • Interest in the technical aspects of historic properties and buildings, including historic materials
  • Ability to collaborate with consultants and owner's representatives on complex multi-phased projects
  • Strong communications and organizational skills
  • Collaborative personality to bring out the best in team situations
  • Experience with government projects is a plus
  • U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident

PROJECT ARCHITECT

PROJECT MANAGER

MARKETING COORDINATOR

MTFA Architecture is looking for a Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer to join our team. The successful applicant must have excellent design and communication skills and the ability to deliver visually strong design solutions that address the needs of our clients while reflecting MTFA’s vision, mission and values, across a variety of print and digital platforms, including:

  • Large-scale design reports, proposals & bid documents.
  • Internal and external digital communications.
  • Creative writing and production coordination for awards submissions, presentation materials, and both digital and print media.
  • To join us as a MARKETING COORDINATOR in our studio, you will responsible for:

    • Working closely with principals, marketing team, and architects throughout project lifecycle (from proposal to publication).
    • Coordinating key marketing initiatives to ensure cohesive messaging, visual identity and that each reflects the vision, mission and values of MTFA.
    • Coordinating proposal process and layouts: thinking creatively and working with team to assemble materials and develop message.
    • Organizing and managing documentation, arranging pre-submittal meetings, and organizing/maintaining project information, including key resumes & team information.
    • Researching and identifying new leads & contracts based on market analysis and opportunity.
    • Maintaining and updating the firm’s website including news and publications updates.
    • Planning and scheduling social media posts across the firm’s channels.
    • Developing and maintaining library of standard marketing materials, including project descriptions, data, resumes, and other content.
    • Establishing, organizing and maintaining graphic/document templates and resource libraries.
    • Producing marketing, business development, and technical print and digital material.
    • Graphically organizing, modifying and updating renderings, diagrams, and design content.
    • U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Strong time and personal management skills, superior writing and editing capabilities, a passion for design, a sharp eye for detail and ability to provide creative insight.
    • Demonstrable graphic design skills and expertise, with a strong portfolio (experience working for a similar architectural or design practice highly desirable).
    • Thorough knowledge of up-to-date, industry leading software and technologies, including Adobe CS InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office (knowledge of 3D visualization, motion-graphic software, and app-based software is a plus).
    • Strong communication and organizational skills (writing and presentation samples strongly encouraged).

    Qualifications:

    • A degree in marketing, communications, business, graphic design or related fields.
    • 1-3 years relevant experience, preferably with proficiency producing proposals, RFPs/RFQs/RFIs in the architecture/engineering industry.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet tight deadlines with a positive attitude.
