Location: McLean, Va.
Project type: religious
Client: Trinity United Methodist Church
A phased master plan and the implementation of a 13,350-square-foot first phase design was developed to improve the physical presence of this church. This expansion also enhanced the church's ministry and community outreach programs.
The most important site feature for the campus includes the new entry plaza which faces Dolley Madison Boulevard. This outdoor space is what provides a revitalized presence for Trinity United Methodist Church in the community and connects the existing church to the new construction. The site also includes a memorial garden and a columbarium set in the landscape.
The long-range design includes a large multipurpose space for worship, recreation and performances. Phase one provides a 13,350-square-foot building that includes a chapel, fellowship lobby, five classrooms, a nursery and the entry plaza.
